Spirituality

Spirituality is an ever-expanding area here at the Silver Lake Institute. Originally of Methodist Episcopal (United Methodist) origins, the most visible of our spiritual practices is the interfaith Sunday Morning Worship Service held at 10:30 am at Epworth Hall except for the first and last Sunday of the Season when it is held at the SLI Dock at Wesley and Lakeview Avenues. We have one Memorial Service and one Eucharist (Holy Communion) each Season.

Guest Speakers, Community Speakers, Authors, Musicians, Vocalists, and Prayer highlight many of our Services. Small Group discussions take place with some of the highlights of other traditions such as the Jesus Movement, the Christian Progressive Movement highlighted and contrasted with that of the Fundamentalist and Conservative Thinkers, Religion and Culture, Religion and Politics, Spiritual History of the Silver Lake History and the Old Camp Meetings.

Occasional discussions (or one-on-ones) on unexplained phenomenon identified as either spiritual or other worldly.  Call the Chaplain to inquire about the next discussion or what you would like to see or hear covered: 585-444-RevG (7384).

The schedule for 2017 is complete and released (see Worship tab above).
