NEWS BRIEFS FOR THE LAKE COMMUNITY . . .

  • SILVER LAKE WATER PRESSURE PROJECT is 75% complete. Restoration of disturbed properties is underway. The next step is the construction of the Pump House. This will begin once the booster pump is delivered.
  • SILVER LAKE OUTLET SAMPLING, a process only good for 5 years, has been completed again. The Village and Town of Perry and the Town of Castile funded the current sampling to the tune of $34,765. The next 2 steps: analysis and report writing.
  • PERRY SCHOOL DISTRICT -- Library Ballot at Perry Library June 6, 2017, from 12 Noon to 9:00 p.m. Election of 2 members to the Library Trustees to fill 3 year terms beginning July 1, 2017. For more info., click HERE.
  • SILVER LAKE EXPERIENCE 2017 -- Two of our presenters have recently been recognized: Jim Montanus just won “Best Rochester Photographer” and Roula Alkhouri was chosen as Genesee County Woman of Distinction for Social Justice.

    SLA is Slated to Host 5 Guest Speakers in 1 Hour at their May 13th Meeting

    Silver Lake Association reported that 23 members gathered on 
    April 8th at the Perry-Warsaw Airport for their April 
    meeting which was their first of this year.

    The SLA May 13th meeting will have guest speakers Andrea Locke, WNY PRISM Coordinator; Frank Bright, SUNY Distinguished Professor (SLA WQ Chairperson); Jacquie Billings Barlow, Village of Perry Trustee; Brittney Roggers, Watercraft Inspection Program Leader, NY Sea Grant; and John Whitney, District Conservationist, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

    The presentation is titled “Planning, Funding, and Executing Public Projects: A Discussion with Government Agencies and Community Groups about Silver Lake, NY.” All interested members are welcome to attend. The presentation begins at 9 am and will last about one hour. The meeting will be held at The Club on Silver Lake Restaurant (second floor).
